Soul Friend Studio
Create. Reflect. Companion. Rest.
What is a “soul friend”?
In the Celtic tradition, an Anam Cara is a soul friend — someone who meets you with compassion, walks alongside you in your spiritual journey, and sees you as you truly are.
Brigid of Kildare taught, "anyone without a soul friend is like a body without a head." This ancient wisdom reminds us that we are not meant to navigate life's deepest questions alone.
I offer compassionate presence and spiritual companionship — a sacred space in a noisy world where you can explore your inner life and reconnect with your own soul.
My approach is unique because it is grounded in the invitation to create. In a world filled with noise, making something with our hands becomes an act of listening and contemplation. Creative expression helps us quiet the mind and tune in to the sacred. Through nonjudgemental, process-oriented creative expression, we access parts of ourselves that words and thinking alone cannot reach.
Who am I?
I am a mother, a wife, a writer, and a professor. I love art, especially soul collage, calligraphy, watercolor for relaxation, and expressive mark-making. In my late forties, I answered a persistent calling and trained as a spiritual companion and dreamworker through the Haden Institute. My PhD in English means I love language and story, but I've learned that what we carry within often lives beneath words and sentences and in the realm of image, archetype, and myth.
